Distracted Driving Awareness Month

I consider myself an easy-going fun loving Caddy. Yes, I like to get together with other pink Cadillacs and have fun, but what did you expect. I’m a PINK Cadillac. Fun is sorta my thing.

But, there are a few things that just get under my hood, and distracted driving is one of them. Did you know that about 100 people die every day in car crashes, and about a quarter of those accidents are caused by cell phone use? Yep, cell phones.

Cars have so many bells and whistles, gadgets and gizmos. Even me. I’m fully loaded with everything and am quite the attraction. (Honey, it’s not bragging if it’s true.) With all of these whatnots, it’s easy to get distracted. And that’s a real problem. A huge problem. A life and death problem.  That’s why April has been designated as Distracted Driving Awareness Month. This is a big initiative, supported by the National Safety Council and many organizations and corporations.

I’m asking each of you to truly think about your actions while you are driving.  If you are cruising around in one of my pink Caddy sisters or hanging out with our new girlfriend, the Mary Kay Black BMW or driving any car, please remember the importance of being a safe driver. Will you take this pledge and commit to ending distracting driving? To take the pledge, visit https://www.nsc.org/forms/distracteddriving_pledge.aspx
