On My Honor...
Girl Scouts are known for the color green but with the unveiling of The Mary Kay healthy relationship patch yesterday, young women and girls across North Texas are learning more about what it means to be part of Mary Kay’s pink world.
Mary Kay’s initiative with the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas is part of the Don’t Look Away campaign and the company’s commitment to end domestic violence and promote healthy relationships.
I have fond memories of my time as a Girl Scout – I’ll never forget selling cookies out of the trunk of my mom’s car in front of her nail salon. It was genius! But this organization has really evolved over time and it’s about so much more than cookies, crafts and camp. The Mary Kay healthy relationship patch helps spark conversations with young women and girls about what makes them special, how to be a caring friend and family member, healthy relationships and self-respect. We always say that Mary Kay is about so much more than lipstick, and after working with the Girl Scouts I would say that they are about so much more than thin mints.
Take a look at the Girl Scouts that joined us yesterday at Mary Kay’s annual Seminar. They had the opportunity to earn the patch, share their love for the pink Cadillac and Girl Scout Ambassadors helped spread the message about healthy relationships to conference attendees. Right now, this is a pilot program in North Texas only. But trust in the power of pink. Something like this could pop up in your hometown in the future.
