LEED

At Mary Kay’s Seminar in 1984, Mary Kay Ash said “the very foundation of this company is based on the premise of helping others.  By applying the Go-Give® principles, you have the opportunity to enrich the lives of others on a daily basis.”

Our founder’s words still ring true today and Mary Kay’s Pink Doing Green® initiative is one of the many ways we continue to embrace the Go-Give® spirit – the willingness to help one another.  This worldwide initiative is our promise to create and maintain sustainable business practices, while also partnering with organizations whose mission is to preserve and beautify our communities.  After all, beauty is our business!

Recently, Mary Kay China was recognized for receiving the LEED v4 Gold certification at a special event in Shanghai.  The Leadership and Environmental Design certification, better known as LEED, has become an international symbol of green building leadership and excellence in sustainability.

Mary Kay China opened its doors 23 years ago and today, it’s not only one of the company’s top markets but it also leads the way in our global efforts to be more sustainable and green.  The market promotes and encourages a green office including waste management and improving energy utilization in the production process.  The LEED certification is a testament to the overall health and wellness of Mary Kay China employees and our corporate neighbors and residents in Shanghai.

In nearly 40 markets around the world, Mary Kay is committed to giving back on a global level.  As part of Mary Kay’s Pink Doing Green® initiative, we’ve planted more than one million trees worldwide and implemented robust recycling programs at our global manufacturing facilities.  Our company also offers innovative and environmentally friendly products and packaging, including a refillable compact that has been around for more than 30 years!
